John Kettley was born in West Yorkshire in July 1952 and served for 30 years with the UK Meteorological Office before going freelance.

John now acts as a broadcaster, weather consultant and partner with British Weather Services, where he fronts many contracts including the Football Association, Twickenham and leading UK racecourses such as Cheltenham, Haydock Park and Newmarket.

John was a national BBC TV broadcast meteorologist from 1985 to 2000 and contracted to BBC Radio 5Live from 2001-2005 and again in 2007.

Other TV work included resident weather presenter for the 'Travel Show', 1987-1989 along with an educational series for schools.
